Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation (PVF)
The Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation (PVF), which was established in 1983, serves as the charitable arm of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association but functions as an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Its mission as an organization is assist Pennsylvania residents enrolled as students at schools and colleges of veterinary medicine across the United States who are in need of financial assistance.

Mission
PVF's mission is to assist Pennsylvania residents enrolled as students at schools and colleges of veterinary medicine across the United States that are in need of financial assistance.
Scholarship Criteria
- Nominees must be legal residents of Pennsylvania. To be considered a legal resident of PA, one must have lived in PA for 12 consecutive months prior to matriculation for other than educational purposes.
- Nominees must be third or fourth year students at any school or college of veterinary medicine in the United States accredited by the Federal Department of Education and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
- Each nominee must demonstrate financial need as determined by the school's student financial aid office or through submission of financial data comparable to that used by the student financial aid offices in determination of levels of need.
- The character and dedication of each nominee will be taken into consideration and these traits affirmed in writing by three letters of recommendation. Current veterinary faculty of the student's veterinary college must write two of the letters of recommendation.
- Each nominee must submit a written biography and curriculum vitae. The biography should contain information on education and work experience, extracurricular activities, membership in professional and student organizations, honors and awards, and any other relevant information that will aid the Trustees in their decision.
- Each nominee must provide a 250-word statement outlining their goals and aspirations for his or her veterinary career and his or her expected area of concentration/interest following graduation.
- Each nominee must provide a current college transcript.
